Summer 2017

I can't believe the summer season is almost done for me. For the past 4 years I have been tackling around 4-5 musicals per summer. To say that it was like training for the Olympics would be an understatement. This year was all about moving forward and onto greater endeavors for my career. I am was thrilled to be brought on to Direct and Choreograph HAIR at Midtown Arts Center. I encoproated aerial silks into the show-and even found an artist who custom tie dyed the silks and added black light paint to create more magic onstage for the production. HAIR was life changing. Seeing the cast truly become a tribe (as written in the script) was magical. I grew so much as an artist and above all as a man. "How dare they try to end this beauty". HAIR runs from June 3-August 24 at Midtown Arts Center. www.midtownartscenter.com

Ryan Hazelbaker Hair

I am pleased to announce that I will be choreographing with Playmakers Repertory Company in Chapel Hill, North Carolina for their SYC production of BYE BYE BIRDIE. I am beyond excited to return to this classic musical, for I started in the YATS program in Slidell with this production in my "early" years. I am reunited with the amazingly talented Michael Perlman as the Director and can not wait to jive my way through the late 50s/early 60s. www.playmakersrep.org
